Jameson Campus
The Jameson community
Jameson Community, or Mantamaru as it is traditionally known, is situated 125 km east of Warburton. Many residents of Jameson were educated at the Warburton Mission. After the Mission closed, Jameson grew as an outstation of Warburton. Later, in 1976 the community was incorporated.
When Blackstone closed for a time, families moved over to Jameson and remained there. Today numbers have diminished and about 60-80 people live in the Jameson community though the number fluctuates.
Services in our community
Jameson has a school, office, store, medical clinic, hall, airstrip, football oval and media centre.
Our campus facilities
The school contains an administrative block, K-3 classroom, primary classroom, high school classroom, a home economics room, a resource room, a playgroup room and ablution block.
Our students
Jameson has an enrolment of approximately 30 students.
Our teachers
In addition to the campus principal, the school is staffed with three teachers and supported by Yarnangu educators (AIEOs).
Our programs
We are strongly focused on the development of social and emotional skills and this is incorporated into our curriculum through the use of Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) fundamentals.
We use a variety of literacy and numeracy programs to enhance the educational outcomes of the students, and have seen success in these areas.
